Paola Sorrentino graduated the piano courses at the Conservatorio “N. Piccinni” in Bari, Italy, in 1990, holds a degree in DAMS Musicology Faculty at the Bologna University (1995) and has finished the postgraduate course in Intercultural Pedagogy in 1996.
Paola often gives masterclasses for pianistic duos, on how to practice, on music reading and music therapy. Since 1988 she produced and directed many projects with Primary and Secondary Schools and High Schools, in collaborations with CRSEC, ”Provveditorato agli Studi” from Bari, ”Teatro Kismet” Opera, the City of Gioia del Colle: instrumental courses, courses of history of music and music listening, master courses in music teaching for Primary school teachers. She also teaches piano, history of music, music theory and solfeggio, harmony and had many talented students, some of whom also graduated in piano.
She worked together with music critics of the newspapers Gioia Oggi and Teatro News from 1998 until 2009, Loggione from 2010 until 2013.
As a pianist, Paola Sorrentino had many solo and piano-duo concerts throughout Italy and Europe and has played many times for radio (also for live shows).
Since 1998, she is a member of the A’ rebours Trio, with whom she recorded for the radio station RAI 3.
Since 2015, she helps with the organization of cultural projects of the Musical Association “Daniele Lobefaro” and the Rossini Theatre in Gioia del Colle.
She is the Artistic Director of the “International Music Competition Pietro Argento”, Italy, since 1998.
